| kezdi: Re: Tot-Sovar or Solivar | Michael,
You very welcome, and want to congratulate you for the love and seriousness you're treating your family history.
I would like to add some observations about the different name spellings.
I'm not a slavic speaker, so treat it as is until found out otherwise.
I looked at different databases and have noticed, that Mursko and Murko appears almost exclusively in Slovenia and Croatia, south from Hungary. These names orined from the river Mura which flowing thru those countries.
The Murcko, Murczko, (Murcsko?) names appears in Slovakia north from Hungary. These names meanings or origine unfortunately I don't know, perhaps a slavic speaking person can help you with that.
So, I believe in your family the different name spellings were accidental or mistakenly, and these names are actually belong in two different name group from two different geographical area, the Murko/Mursko and the Murcko/Murczko names.
I copied below examples of both.
With regards,
Joseph aka kezdi from Calif.
